Greenwood Leflore Airport
serves an important role for area business and industry. With today's emphasis
on just-in-time delivery, the airport is used to transport freight from local
industries to distant assembly points. The airport is also used twice daily
by UPS to receive and forward overnight parcels.
Several
corporations are headquartered in Greenwood and conduct flight operations in
support of their activities. Today the airport is home to 19 multi-engine corporate
and personal aircraft, four of which are jets. There are 88 aircraft based at
Greenwood. In addition, the Memphis Group will have a number of complete commercial
aircraft ranging from 747's to 727's on the ramp.
GWO is also used by the military for training, refueling and support for nearby Camp McCain. The U. S. Air Force operates aircraft ranging from C-130's to C-17's to move active duty personnel and their equipment to and from this National Guard training site. The airport has letters of agreement with Little Rock AFB, Columbus AFB and Meridian NAS for training here. The U. S. Army also utilizes the airport as a convenient refueling stop for large numbers of helicopters operating between Fort Campbell and Fort Polk.

The Greenwood Leflore Airport is always supportive of civil and military aviation and is more than happy to accommodate any special requests for services. With advance notification, tower hours may be modified and other services provided to enhance your operating safety.

GWO offers fire rescue
services during from 08:00 to 17:00 during weekdays. Services are available
at other times on request. Two crash/rescue vehicles are available with 1,500
gallons of water and AFFF.
The airport operating environment is protected by an 6 foot chain link fence with five electrically activated gates. Entry is via card access. Public parking is available at both FBO's.
